asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state what progress has been made in respect of the survey of the Owenglin river valley for hydro-electric development.

I am informed by the Electricity Supply Board that the survey of the Owenglin river area has been completed. Its development for power purposes is being considered but it is not yet possible to say whether it will be undertaken.
