asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state (1) the amount of money collected on the increased tax on motor vehicles to date, and (2) the amount allocated out of that money to each county council for road maintenance.

The increase in the income of the Road Fund for a full financial year is estimated at about £830,000. The allocations from the fund have been publicly announced.
