asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the area of land planted by the Forestry Division in County Galway in 1952; and, further, if he will give an estimate of the area it is proposed to plant in 1953 and 1954 in that county.

The area of plantations laid down in County Galway in 1951-52 was 1,894 acres. The area which is in course of planting this year is 1,750 acres. The area to be planted in 1953-54 has not yet been settled.
