asked the Minister for Lands if he will forthwith direct the acquisition branch of the Forestry Division to inspect and take immediate steps to acquire the largest possible areas in as many districts as possible in West Cavan towards establishing forest centres and giving the maximum employment in that area.

Considerable attention is being paid to this area particularly to the north-west of the county, where progress up to the present has been good and is likely to continue so. There are prospects of the establishment of at least two new centres in this district in the near future.
