asked the Minister forPosts and Telegraphs if he has received an application or applications from the Shandon Householders' Protection Association, Phibsboro', for the provision of a telephone kiosk and letter box, and if, in view of the increase in population consequent on the extension and development of this area, he hopes at an early date to accede to their request.

I regret the answer is in the negative. There is no post office at Newcastle and the provision of a public telephone there would not be warranted.
