asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state whether any survey or investigation has been made of the Castleconnell bog area in County Limerick as to its suitability for inclusion in the schemes of electricity development; and, if not, whether it is proposed to hold such a survey.

I am informed by Bord na Móna that an investigation of the Castleconnell area has established that the potential output of turf from the area is so limited that it could not be considered for inclusion in schemes of electricity development.
