asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is prepared favourably to consider representations for the establishment of an airport in the immediate vicinity of Galway City and if he will make a statement in the matter.

The establishment of an airport at Galway City is not under consideration. Galway Corporation maintains a licensed airfield at Oranmore, which is suitable for use by light aircraft in certain conditions.
