asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state (a) if the outstanding arrears of applications for housing grants have been cleared as regards applicants from North Galway; (b) how many applications for grants are still outstanding and (c) when it is hoped to pay these amounts.

My Department's registers relating to housing grants are kept in county order and do not readily disclose separate figures for a particular part of a county. The special compilation of the detailed information requested by the Deputy in respect of North Galway would impose an unjustifiable demand on the time of my staff.
