asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the number of applications received and the total amount paid in respect of loans under the Small Dwellings Acquisition Acts in Dublin City and County for the years 1948-49 to 1952-53 and the period 1st April, 1953, to 30th September, 1953.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to have it circulated with the Official Report.

Following is the statement:—

(a)Particulars of the number of applications received as distinct from the number of applications approved are not available in the Department.

(b)The extension of the County Borough area became effective as from 1st April, 1953.
