asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the number of applications received and the total amount paid in respect of housing grants for the years 1948-49 to 1952-53 and the period 1st April, 1953, to 30th September, 1953, in Dublin and county.

The Department's records relating to housing grants do not readily disclose the precise information sought by the Deputy. With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I shall have a statement circulated in the Official Report showing particulars of the number of houses approved for grants and the number of grants fullypaid during the period 1st April, 1948, to 31st March, 1953.
