asked the Minister for Education if he will state (1) the number of pensioned teachers who retired previous to 1st January, 1950, and died between that date and the 1st April, 1953, and (2) the number of such pensioned teachers whose next of kin, heirs or estate have not claimed the ex-gratiaaward due to them up to 31st October, 1953.

(1) Five hundred and seventeen pensioned teachers retired previous to 1st January, 1950, and died between that date and 1st April, 1953. (2) The number of such pensioned teachers in respect of whom the ex-gratiaawards had not been claimed by 31st October, 1953, was 109.
