asked the Minister for Local Government whether he will ensure, in relation to road grants for the coming financial year, that the claim of County Galway as a large turf-producing area will receive special consideration and that the amount of the grant will be substantially increased.

When the scale of road grants for the coming year is being determined due regard will be given to all relevant considerations affecting the allocation for County Galway.
