asked the Minister for Finance if he will indicate the steps that have been taken towards appointing a collector of taxes for Athlone and the surrounding districts since the position became vacant on the 31st December last, if the delay has resulted in a loss of revenue; and, if so, to what extent.

Usual procedure is being followed in this case and no avoidable delay has occurred. There has been no loss in revenue.
