asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the number of new industries set up between 13th June, 1951, and 2nd June, 1954.

The number of new industries and extensions to existing undertakings which came to my Department's notice as having commenced production between 13th June, 1951, and 2nd June, 1954, was 258. There may of course be others of which there is no official record to date.
