asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that, although pipes have been laid for a considerable period, the Killala waterworks, County Mayo, have not yet been completed; and, if so, if he will take steps to ensure that the work is completed as soon as possible.

I am aware that the position is as stated by the Deputy. Completion of the scheme must await the installation of the pumping and filtration plant, for which a tender based on a delivery period of 40 weeks was approved on 14th July last.
