asked the Minister for Justice if he will state (a) the amount collected in respect of firearms certificates for the killing of game in the season 1954-55, and (b) what funds are made available for the preservation and development of game.

The amount collected up to 28th February, 1955, for unlimited firearm certificates for 1954-55 was £52,001 15s.

As regards the second part of the question, it has been made clear more than once that if a workable plan of expenditure is put forward, the question of a State grant will be considered.
