asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is now in a position to make definite arrangements to institute the public inquiry into the proposal to erect a bridge connecting Valentia Island with the mainland.

I have been for some time awaiting an intimation from the county council that they have completed the preparation of all the material on which evidence by their representatives may be offered or required. When I am informed that they are ready, I can arrange the holding of the public inquiry without delay.
