asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has under consideration proposals for the provision of water supplies on the Aran Islands and, if so, the nature of the proposals, and when sanction will be issued.

Contract documents for a water supply improvement scheme for Kilronan have been approved and the county council technical advisers are investigating the possibility of providing a regional water supply scheme to serve several other villages in Inishmore. As regards Inishmaan and Inishere I understand that an application for sanction to the raising of a loan for the improvement of wells will be submitted shortly.
