asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state, in respect of grants under the Local Authorities (Works) Act, the amount allocated to County Sligo in respect of (a) 1953, (b) 1954, and (c) 1955, and if any money was returned to the Department by the county council as unspent during the year 1954.

The grants allocated to Sligo County Council for the execution of works under the Local Authorities (Works) Act in the financial years 1953-54, 1954-55 and 1955-56 amount to £18,500, £21,000 and £21,000, respectively. Final returns of expenditure under the 1954-55 grant have not yet been furnished to the Department.
