asked the Minister for Lands whether he has received a claim for an increased rate of pay for gangers and workers employed by the Land Commission in County Kerry, and, if so, if he will sanction the proposed increase so that these men may enjoy the same rates of pay as their counterparts in the employment of the county council.

I have received no claim on behalf of either workers or gangers. I have, however, received a request from gangers regarding pay and conditions and, on examination, I have found that there is no substance in the request.
