asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that the Killarney Urban District Council are prepared to raise a loan for the resurfacing of roads if a substantial grant is given; and whether he is prepared to allocate a grant for the purpose.

Such a proposal is contained in a recent resolution of the council. Grants are not made from the Road Fund for works of the nature proposed in this case.
