asked the Minister for Finance if he will state, in respect of the special import levy, the amount collected up to 20th October, 1956, or the latest date for which the information is available.

The total amount received in respect of special import levies from 14th March to 20th October, 1956, inclusive was £2,148,787. Of this amount £56,233 was collected in the year ended 31st March last and £2,092,554 in the current year.
