As regards the receipts from each item in the Special Import Levy for the period up to 31st March last I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Deputy O'Malley's question on 9th of May last.

As regards the receipts from 1st April onwards, the amounts derived from each item in the Special Import Levy and the Special Import (No. 2) Levy are aggregated on a half-yearly basis. The figures for the half year from April to September, 1956, are given in the following table:—

SPECIAL IMPORT LEVY.

Analysis of Net Receipts 1st April—30th September, 1956.

SPECIAL IMPORT (NO. 2) LEVY.

Analysis of Net Receipts 26th July-30th September, 1956.

NOTE.—In the case of parcel post importations, separate records are not kept of the different classes of goods imported, except as regards wearing apparel.
