asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware of the poor condition of the Garda Síochána barracks in Belmullet, County Mayo; and if there are any plans on hand for the erection of a new barracks in the near future.

A tender has been accepted by the Office of Public Works for the execution of a major scheme of improvements to the Garda station at Belmullet. The work is about to commence and it is hoped to have it completed within three months.
