Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Yield of Tax on Dances.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of the year ended 31st March, 1958, (a) the net yield of entertainments tax on dances after refunds to charitable, philanthropic or educational societies qualifying for rebate of tax, and (b) the portion of the gross tax collected in Dublin City and County.

(a) For the year ended 31st March, 1958, the approximate net yield of entertainments duty on dances was £154,000.

(b) The gross amount of duty collected in the year from dances held in Dublin City and County is estimated at about £75,000.
