asked the Minister for Finance if in view of the commitments of the Office of Public Works he will sanction a limited drainage scheme on the Swilly river from the Thorn to New Mills.

The improvement of the River Swilly could be considered by the Commissioners of Public Works only by way of a comprehensive scheme under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945, for the entire catchment area.
