asked the Minister for Finance if any drainage scheme has been prepared for the Boyne river and its tributaries in order to relieve the severe flood damage in County Cavan; and, if so, when it is expected that the scheme will be put into operation.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply to a question on the 10th July last which indicated that, although an engineering survey of the Boyne catchment area is in hands, it will be a considerable time before a decision can be reached in regard to the carrying out of a drainage scheme.
