asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce what is the present position in regard to the proposed new airport at Cork; and if the work will be put to contract soon.

Most of the land for the new airport has now been acquired, and the planning of the runways and terminal building will be completed shortly. I hope to be in a position to invite tenders for the work early next year.
