asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the acreage of land divided by the Land Commission in East Galway in the period from 1st January to 30th April, 1959; and how this compares with the acreages for similar periods over the past two years.

Land Commission records are not kept on a constituency basis. In Co. Galway as a whole, the total area allotted during the period 1st January, 1959, to 30th April, 1959, was 8,113 acres. The areas allotted during the corresponding period of the two previous years were 5,451 and 2,901 acres respectively.
