asked the Minister for Local Government whether in view of the fact that sanitary authorities have at present no power to deal with certain kinds of smoke nuisances from factory chimneys, he proposes to introduce legislation to deal with the matter at an early date.

I am aware of the position in this matter. The point has been noted for consideration in connection with proposals for legislation to amend the Local Government (Sanitary Services) Acts.
