asked the Minister for Health if he will state in respect of each of the periods 1956/57, 1957/58 and 1st April, 1958 to 30th September, 1958, the number of applications for disabled persons' maintenance allowances (a) made and (b) refused.

The numbers of applications for disabled persons' maintenance allowances made during the years ended the 31st March, 1957, and 31st March, 1958, and the half-year ended the 30th September, 1958, and the numbers of applications refused during these periods were as follows:—
