asked the Minister for Justice if he will state (a) the amount of the increase proposed to be paid to (i) the Chief Justice and each Supreme Court Judge, (ii) the President of the High Court and each High Court Judge, (iii) the President of the Circuit Court and each Circuit Court Judge and (iv) each District Justice, (b) the amount, including the increase, payable to each, and (c) the total amount, including the increase, payable to all persons in the above categories.

I assume that the increases referred to by the Deputy are those proposed in the Courts of Justice Bill, 1959. The information sought by him is set out in the form of a tabular statement, which, with the permission of the Leas Cheann Comhairle, I propose to have circulated with the Official Report.

The information sought in respect of the financial year 1958/59 is set out in the form of a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Leas-Cheann Comhairle, I propose to have circulated with the Official Report.

With regard to the current financial year provision has been made in the Estimates for the payment of amounts generally corresponding to those set out in the tabular statement.
