asked the Minister for Local Government when the proposed regional water scheme for the Fanad peninsula will be developed.

I am not in a position to say when the scheme will proceed, as the proposals are still at a preliminary stage. I understand that, following a survey of potential consumers in the Fanad region generally, a report is to be submitted to the County Council in the near future, in regard to the extent of the area to be supplied by the proposed scheme.
