Michael J. Kennedy Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Social Welfare (Mr. Kennedy) Fianna Fáil

I intend to introduce legislation during the present session which will provide for the abolition of the three-day waiting period in the case of persons transferring from unemployment benefit to unemployment assistance. As I have stated previously it is not my intention to provide for the general abolition of the waiting period for unemployment benefit.
