asked the Minister for Local Government the total indebtedness of local authorities throughout the State on the 31st March, 1960 or at the nearest previous convenient date.

The total net indebtedness of all local authorities excluding harbour authorities, vocational education committees and county committees of agriculture at 31st March, 1960, is estimated at £144,700,000.
