asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that during the herring season there were considerable quantities of this popular fish caught in the neighbourhood of Sneem and thrown back into the sea for want of a market; and if he will take steps to ensure that the local fishermen will not suffer such a loss next season.

I am not aware of any such occurrence but I am having inquiries made.
