Ceisteanna-Questions Oral Answers. - Garda Pensions.

Oliver J. Flanagan Mr. O.J. Flanagan Fine Gael

asked the Minister for Justice whether he is aware that increases are urgently required in the pensions of Gardaí who retired before the 1st November, 1955; and whether he will take steps to have such increases implemented.

Comment on this

Under the Pensions (Increase) Act, 1960, pension increases, with effect from 1st August, 1960, have been granted to State pensioners, including ex-Garda members, who retired before 1st November, 1955. Should there be a further revision of the pension awards to State pensioners generally, the claims of Garda pensioners will of course be considered.
