asked the Minister for Transport and Power when the E.S.B. current is likely to be extended to the Caherdaniel district, County Kerry, and to the adjoining areas east and west of Caherdaniel.

I am informed by the Electricity Supply Board that the Caherdaniel area has been considered by the Board from time to time for development under the Rural Electrification Scheme, but has not been successful.

The Board are not in a position to say when supply may be extended to the area.
