asked the Minister for Justice whether he is aware that a member of Dublin Corporation has received an abusive letter written on official stationery and enclosed in an official Garda Síochána envelope franked "free postage"; and, if so, what action has been taken in the matter.

As a result of inquiries, I have ascertained that an anonymous letter enclosed in a Garda official envelope and franked "free postage" was addressed to a member of the Dublin Corporation on the 2nd May, last.

The misuse of the Garda official prepaid envelope is being investigated.
