asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has completed the review undertaken by him of local finances; and if he will state the results of such review, stating in particular whether he has formed, as a result, any plans for reducing the burden of rates on counties such as Kerry in which the rate has been increasing rapidly in recent years.

A Preliminary Survey of Local Government Finance was published last month by the Economic Research Institute. It would not be possible, on the basis of the results of investigations to date, to formulate any plan for the revision of the local government financial structure.
