asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that the fish cannery owned by Kinsale Canners, Limited has now ceased operations; and whether in view of the hardship caused locally by the disemployment of the workers in this firm he will investigate the possibility of having the factory reopened for the processing of vegetables, or for any other purpose.

I am aware of the situation and I am prepared to facilitate, in any way open to me, any sound proposal for the re-opening of the factory for industrial purposes.
