asked the Minister for Finance if he has received a communication from the Dublin Fianna Veterans regarding the Garden of Remembrance, Dublin; and, if so, if he will state its terms and his reply.

A letter was received by me from the Dublin Branch of Old Fianna Veterans inquiring when the Garden of Remembrance is expected to be completed, when the official opening is likely to take place and whether the Minister for Finance had received any request from National Associations in connection with commemorations regarding the fiftieth anniversary of the formation of the Irish Volunteers which occurs this year.

The reply issued was to the effect that work on the main part of the scheme is expected to be completed next autumn, that at this stage it is not possible to say when the sculpture will be completed, or to indicate when the Garden will be formally opened, and that no request of the nature mentioned had been received from national associations.
