asked the Minister for Local Government if the proposed housing scheme for Cheekpoint, County Waterford has been sanctioned ; the number of houses to be erected ; and when work on the scheme will begin.

The documents relating to the proposed contract for ten cottages at Cheekpoint were discussed on the 4th instant with officials of the housing authority and no objection is being raised to the acceptance of the tender, subject to certain conditions and suggestions which are being communicated in writing to the housing authority.

I am not in a position to say when work will commence.
