Donogh O'Malley Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Finance (Mr. O'Malley) Fianna Fáil

The reply is in the form of a tabular statement which I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report.

Following is the statement:—

EMPLOYMENT AND EMERGENCY SCHEMES VOTE.

(a) Grants allocated under Subhead C—Urban Employment Schemes—and Subhead D— Rural Employment Schemes.

(b) and (c) Dates schemes received and sanctioned by Special Employment Schemes Office

(d) Present Position:

Schemes have been sanctioned to absorb the full allocation for Bandon and Passage West. Two schemes to absorb the full allocation for Kinsale have been under consideration in the Department of Local Government. One, estimated to cost £100, has been rejected by the Department and the Urban District Council has been asked to submit an alternative. The other, estimated to cost £525, is at present with the Department's engineer for inspection and report.
