asked the Minister for Local Government if he will consider extending the new housing grants and loans to include ratepayers in towns and villages, who are not landowners.

The announcement made jointly by myself and by the Minister for Lands relates only to the housing of small farmers. Any extension of the facilities at present available to other classes would be a matter for discussion when the proposed legislation is before the House.
