asked the Minister for Transport and Power if the Electricity Supply Board have still under consideration the proposal to purchase an atomic reactor; and, if so, if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am informed by the ESB that they have had no such proposal under consideration. They keep under review all nuclear power development in order to assess its economic and technical possibilities for electricity generation.
