asked the Minister for Transport and Power if he will request Bord na Móna to carry out a survey of bogs in the parish of Ballycroy, North Mayo with a view to developing that area in conjunction with the scheme being operated at Bellacorick.

I am informed by Bord na Móna that they have already surveyed the bogs in the area in question and found them unsuitable for economic peat production by present methods. The Board do not consider that a further survey would serve any useful purpose.
