Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bacon Exports.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if it is the intention of the Pigs and Bacon Commission to continue exporting bacon through the port of Limerick.

Comment on this
Patrick Smith Minister for Agriculture (Mr. Smith) Fianna Fáil

I understand that the Pigs and Bacon Commission have not been exporting bacon through Limerick port, and that they do not intend to do so in the future because of their desire to concentrate bacon exports through not more than two or three ports with a view to facilitating inspection, storage and assembly of consignments for export.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the quantity of bacon exported by Limerick curers during each of the years 1961-62 and 1962-63.

Comment on this

I have no record of the quantities of bacon exported from time to time by individual curers or by all curers in a particular locality.
