asked the Minister for Agriculture what tests are now proceeding in the Agricultural Institute on the growing of onion sets for seed.

The Institute informs me that it has carried out a considerable volume of work on aspects such as the variety, seeding rate, spacing, time of sowing, weed control and treatment of onion sets, which investigations are preliminary to carrying out work on the production of seed.
