asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will accede to the request of the residents of Rearcross, Newport, County Tipperary, to provide a mechanically propelled cycle for the local postman so as to facilitate early delivery of mails in the Rearcross area.

The request referred to cannot be favourably considered at present. The use of vehicles of the kind suggested is limited at this stage to certain pilot areas until the question of their suitability has been determined.
